Wow! Today was really bittersweet! We left Arezzo in the morning and headed back towards Rome. We got back around lunch and a group of us headed towards McDonalds. It felt nice being back in Rome, and this time we felt like we knew where we were going. I had to get my COVID test today so I can fly back to the US tomorrow (it was negative)! We had our final dinner together and then met back at the hotel. We said our thank you's and good byes and gave our gifts to our professors! Afterwards, a group of us met in someone's hotel room and shared memories and things we admired about each other from this trip. It was so sweet thinking about how much these friendships have grown over the past 2 weeks. Although I was friends with everyone coming in, I can now say these are some of my absolute favorite people on this earth. I'm so grateful I got to experience the trip of a lifetime with such amazing friends. Italy has been so good to me! Can't wait to come back soon (let's hope my wish at the Trevi Fountain comes true)!
