Today was a busy day. We left Rome early in the morning and headed towards Siena. Our first stop in Siena was Basilica Cateriniana San Domenico, a church dedicated to Saint Catherine- a prominent figure in the Catholic Church. I think one of the most memorable parts of the visit is seeing St. Catherine’s severed thumb and head on display in Siena as the rest of her body was in Rome. After the church we went to a museum and saw sculptures and stained glass pieces. We also visited the town square and got to walk around Siena. After lunch, we got back on the bus and headed towards Florence. We did a little walking tour around the city and saw the Duomo and other major spots in the city! Can’t wait to to learn more in Florence :)
